Thomas C. Dela Cruz, 86, of Hilo died April 29 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Honomu, he was a retired supervisor for the former Ka‘u Sugar Co. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Graveside urn committal service to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Thomas (Lidia Dacayanan) Dela Cruz, Dennis Dela Cruz and Kurt De La Cruz; sister, Jan Hasegawa; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Ricardo “Ricky” Anacito Javar Sr., 68, of Naalehu died May 7 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Pahala, he was a former cane haul driver for the former Ka‘u Sugar Co. Celebration of life noon Saturday, July 20, at Naalehu Community Center, 95-5635 Hawaii Belt Road. Survived by wife, Janice Javar of Naalehu; sons, Ricardo “Ricky-Boy” (Grace) Javar Jr, of Naalehu and Jamie (Chrisy) Javar of Ocean View; daughters, Joanna (Brian Burgos) Javar and Megan Javar of Naalehu; mothers, Betty (Willard) Sanford of Tennessee and Carol Javar of Pahala; four sisters and four brothers; seven grandsons and a great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews and cousins. Michael Beazley Kealohilani Mossman, 78, of Waimea died March 30 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was the retired chief engineer Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa, worked at the former Sheraton Waikoloa Beach Resort, former Kona Surf Resort and the Moana Surfrider Hotel and was Kaimuki High School alum and U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran. Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday (June 1) at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 539 Kapahulu Ave. in Honolulu. High Mass 9:30 a.m.-10:15 a.m. Light refreshments and “talk story” to follow in Parish Hall. Aloha Attire. No wreaths; lei and floral arrangements welcome. Services in Waimea at a later date. Survived by wife, Edwina Mossman (Hoke); daughter, Lena Mossman; son, Guy-Michael Mossman; siblings, William (Emmaline) Mossman, Dr. Nanette (Wayne) Judd and Violet Mossman; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild; two hanai grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Alan “Urkie” Haruo Urakami, 73, of Umauma died April 22 at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service and a U.S. Army Vietnam War and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Friday, June 7, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Casual attire.
